.

did you know ?

.

every day,
the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles

.

in a lifetime,
that is equivalent to driving to the moon and back

.

.

so,
when you tell someone you love them
to the moon and back

.

you’re essentially saying :
you will love them
with all the blood
your heart pumps your whole life

.

which I think is equally as meaningful

.

.

.

my father once told me a story

about

an

old

redwood tree

how it stood tall and proud

.

.

.

.

.

its sprawling limbs clothed in emerald green

.

with a smile,

my father described its as a mere sapling,

sheltered by its elders

and

basking in the safety of the warm, dappled light

.

.

.

but as the tree grew taller,

it found itself at the mercy

of the cruel wind

and

the vicious rain

.

.

.

.

.

together,

they tore relentlessly at its pretty boughs

until it felt as though its heart would split in two

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

after a long,

thoughtful pause,

my father turned to me and said:

.

my daughter, one day the same thing will happen to you, and when that time comes, remember the redwood tree

.

do not worry about the cruel wind or the vicious rain — but do as that tree did and just K E E P   G R O W I N G “

.

you
are
someone’s soulmate

.

.

.
someone,

.
somewhere
is
missing
the
idea
of
you

.

.

.
they
may
not
know
your
name

.

.
your
face
may
be
unfamiliar

.
but
someone

.
somewhere
is
imagining
what
it
would
be
like
to
be
with
someone
like
you

no one truly know who they are ‘ he sighs

.

.

.

the

glass bottle

does

not

know

its

own

contents

.

.

.

it has no idea whether

it is a vessel for the most delicious apple cider,

a lovingly crafted wine,

or

a bitter poison

.

.

.

people are the same

.

yet, like the bottle

.

.

.

.

.

we are transparent

.

.

we can not see ourselves the way others see us

.

.

.

how do you see me? ‘ she asked

.

.

you are a bottle floating out at sea ‘ he says ‘ one that contains a very important message, it may never reach its recipient but as long as there is someone waiting, it will always have purpose

.

.

.

will you wait for mine ?

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

i will ‘ he promised

i will look for you every time i stand at the edge of the ocean

sebuah R A H A S I A dibalik D O A

.

.

.

ada seorang pemuda yang rajin berdoa,

meminta sesuatu pada Tuhan,

tapi doanya tak kunjung terkabul

.

.

.

— sebulan menunggu —

.

.

.

doanya masih belum terkabul,

namun dia setia berdoa

.

.

.

— tiga bulan menunggu —

.

.

.

doanya masih tetap belum terkabul,

dan dia tetap setia berdoa

.

.

.

— hampir setahun menunggu —

.

.

.

doanya masih tetap belum terkabul juga

.

.

.

.

.

mulailah pemuda itu melihat sekelilingnya,

mencari apakah hanya doanya yang tak terkabul,

.

.

.

dia melihat teman kantornya,

orangnya biasa saja,

tak istimewa,

jarang beribadah,

kelakuannya sering tak beres,

dan masih banyak hal kurang baik dari teman kantornya

.

.

.

namun anehnya,

apa yang didoakan terkabul,

seolah hidupnya mudah dan berjalan seperti yang dia inginkan

.

.

.

dalam kebingungan,

si pemuda bertanya kepada seorang bijak,

mengapa teman kantornya dalam segala kekurangannya mendapat jawaban doa,

sedangkan dia

— yang taat dan rajin berdoa —

tak kunjung mendapatkan jawaban atas doa-doanya

.

.

.

.

.

orang bijak tersenyum sambil menceritakan sebuah analogi:

‘ bila kamu didatangi oleh pengamen yang urakan,

suaranya fals,

dan

main musik seenaknya,

apa yang kamu lakukan?’

.

lalu di lain sisi

.

bila kamu didatangi oleh pengamen yang rapi,

musiknya bagus,

suaranya merdu,

apa yang kamu lakukan? ‘

.

.

.

.

.

orang bijaktersenyum

‘ Begitulah Tuhan ketika melihat engkau,

yang taat dan setia datang menghadap-Nya

.

.

tampak perubahan raut wajah si pemuda

Tuhan senang mendengarkan doamu,

melihamu,

dan Tuhan ingin bertemu denganmu lebih lagi,

mudah bagi Tuhan untuk memberi lebih dari apa yang kau minta,

tapi Dia ingin menahanmu sedikit lebih lama,

bukan untuk mempermainkanmu,

Dia ingin melihat kesetiaanmu,

Dia ingin lebih dekat denganmu,

bila doamu dikabulkan apakah kau akan sedekat ini denganNya?

karena dipenghujungnya nanti,

Dia akan memberi lebih besar dari apa yang kau minta

story of feelings

.

once,

there was an island where all the feelings lived together

.

.

one day,

there came a storm in the sea and the island was about to drown

every feeling was scared but LOVE made a boat to escape

.

all the feelings jumped in the boat except for one feeling

.

LOVE got down to see who it was

it was EGO

.

.

.

LOVE tried and tried but EGO didn’t move

everyone asked LOVE to leave EGO

and come in the boat

but LOVE was meant to love

LOVE remained with EGO

.

.

.

all other feelings were left alive

but

LOVE died because of EGO

.

.

.

.

.

— the end —
